Skip Meyer 1949-2014 

Today we lost our best friend and comrade of nearly 40 years. Surrounded by his wife and children, Skip passed away at his home after battling a lingering illness.  He was an integral part of our band’s early evolution, and his upbeat, easy-going nature was inspiring and contagious.  Skip was just a fun guy to be around.  He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will forever be with us.

SHOES head off to Valparaiso, IN to perform this saturday night, May 31st! 

SHOES will be performing this saturday night, May 31st in Valparaiso, IN at the beautiful and historic Memorial Opera House!  2 weeks after playing in Brooklyn, NY for the Trouser Press 40th Anniversary event/Power Pop Festival, the guys are geared up and ready to do it again.  Different from the usual "club-style" venue, The Memorial Opera House features comfortable, theatre seating in a more acoustically tailored setting.  Check their website for seating lay-out and availability.

SHOES return to SPACE in Evanston on July 19th! 

SHOES will return to play a show at SPACE in Evanston on saturday, July 19th at 8pm.  It's a 93XRT Show and comes almost exactly a year since their last visit to this beautiful and intimate venue.

SHOES Hit the Road in 2014!

Video veteran Lou Hinkhouse has put together a new video for Head vs. Heart featuring footage shot during the recent SHOES  tour.  Lou is a seasoned video professional that is not only a master video editor (having done work for Billy Coragan of Smashing Pumpkins), he is also a longtime friend of the band and was one of the folks responsible for the 1984 videos… Read more

Less than 2 weeks until SHOES play Milwaukee and Evanston gigs! 

It's less than 2 weeks away now, until SHOES rolls out the gear and heads to Milwaukee's Shank Hall on July 26th for the first stop of 2 consecutive nights of shows, with Space in Evanston the following night on July 27th!  It has been a long time since the band has played gigs on 2 consecutive nights in 2 different cities/states.  It's difficult to predict when/if there will be any additional shows.  So, if you'd like to see the band perform live, pack up the cats and head out to one of these fine venues!
